beloit Art Center here we come!

As of February 2025, I am officially an artist member at the Beloit Art Center in the heart of downtown Beloit, WI! The Beloit Art Center is an asset to art patrons and artists alike from southern Wisconsin and northern Illinois. They are known for their First Friday receptions every month which showcase fresh artists in each of their main galleries as well as offering studio space and community art classes throughout the week.

Here is a small snippet from their site about where they are located and a bit of their history:

“Built in 1912, our facility at 520 E Grand Avenue originated as the Bell Telephone Company. The two-story construction of Chicago firebrick has since housed restaurants, the Elks Club and an antique store. An excellent location in downtown Beloit, it is easily accessible to both area residents and out-of-town visitors. In 1999, the Beloit Economic Development Corporation purchased the building on behalf of the emerging Beloit Fine Arts Incubator. In 2017 the name was changed to BELOIT ART CENTER and in 2020 the center purchased the building from the city.  We look forward to celebrating 25 years of community art in 2025!”

Be on the look-out on here and my Instagram for further news in relation to the Beloit Art Center. I am excited for what’s to come in the future!

Now On Display At Woodland Studios

I am thrilled to announce that I have been consigned to a Woodland Studios in Stoughton, Wisconsin. Just a hop, skip and jump from Madison, Woodland Studios offers a little bit of everything to art patrons and artists alike. With everything from abstract paintings, to glass work and carved books, this place has it all!

I could not be more honored to grace the walls of this place and look forward to getting more work placed in there over this next year. Currently, Red Temptation, part of the Her series, is hanging front and center. Please stop in and say hi to the curator and framing guru, Alan Sheets.

To purchase Red Temptation, please contact Woodland Studios at (608) 877-8007.

Utility Box Wrap Design winner

The RAAC (Rockford Area Arts Council) gave artists the opportunity to come up with a design that would be wrapped on two utility boxes around town. Talk about an amazing way to liven up a plain ole industrial power box! I went with a theme from one of my favorite Rockford assets from the past - The Rockford Peaches! Honing in on vintage imagery, the retro logo and a backdrop of a peach, I made a pop art-inspired piece that keeps your eye in motion. The box even features my name and a QR code to my arts council directory page on top of it! How cool is that?!

The boxes can be found at W Riverside Blvd & Huffman Blvd and Airport Dr. and Beltline Rd. in Rockford.

THE CITY OF LOVES PARK, illinois BUYS A WORK OF MINE!

I had the awesome opportunity to paint live and sell art at the Rhythm of the Heart Music Festival in Loves Park, IL this past July. I chose the hometown water tower just across the way as my subject matter. In a matter of several hours, the Walker Ave Water Tower was born!

The Mayor of Loves Park, Gregory Jury, took an immediate liking to the piece and it now lives at City Hall in the historic hallway. HOW COOL IS THAT?!
